Kenneth was raised in the Catholic faith. Always looking to feel more a part of the Church, he joined a wide range of ministries in parishes to which he belonged. He has been an altar server, usher, Eucharistic minister, lector, and trustee in the St Vincent dePaul Society. He was a catechist for youth of all ages. His most rewarding experience was in helping to lead a youth ministry program, where he discovered a passion for working with high school and college-aged youth. With a need to be able to practice his faith while being openly gay, he discovered and became a member of Dignity/Houston, where he found a welcoming group of proud LGBTQ Catholics. During his time with the group, he has enjoyed helping to spread Dignity’s message at various community events and at the Houston Pride Festival and Parade.
Kenneth is currently retired from a 21-year career as a pharmacist. He is a member of Lambda Center Houston, where he regularly attends AA meetings. He also volunteers his time at Montrose Grace Place and Covenant House Texas, where he is finding fulfillment in helping with services for homeless and at-risk youth.
